The first Desk Monster was made many years ago. He looked like a Two legged two eyed scary thing.
Simplifying his design for animation is what lead to the one eyed blobby design you know and love.

First Short
The next Desk Monster Short film was made in an afternoon. This was just a way to do another animation test before the first official episode.
Episode One
Episode One of the Desk Monster was made over the course of four weekends as creator Nathan Hacker attended high school.
This is when we see the origin story of how a little piece of Gum, comes to life and goes on an adventure!
Episode Two
The second episode featured original score by Jason Hacker, and talented cast and crew like Donovan Griffin, Katherine Scotty and Rayt Kiya on VFX and compositing.
With the introduction of new programs like Dragon frame (a pro stop-motion software) and after effects (a VFX & compositing software) better animation was achieved.
